Air India is the main airline company of India with headquarters in New Deli. The owner of Airline Company is state owned company Air India Limited. It was established on October 15th 1932 as Tata Airlines. Regular operational activity is run since July 29th 1946.

Airline Company serves about 100 directions more than 60 from which are international. The flights are made to 4 continents. Headquarters of the company is located in Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Deli. There are also representations in some big cities of India.

Air India is the biggest international air carrier of India with market share of about 20%. Besides, Airline Company is the third biggest local airline company of India in number of carried passengers (after IndiGo and Jet Airways) with market share of about 15%. In July 2014 the company became 27th member of Star Alliance.
