This airplane had body length of 63.69 meters. Airbus A330-300 is capable to accommodate up to 295 passengers in three class configuration and up to 440 passengers in one-class configuration. Flying range of this model is up to 10500 kilometers.

A330-300 is the first in the series and began to fly in 1994.

In 2010 during update the weight of the airplane increased to 240 tones but flying range by 640 kilometers. Aerodynamics was also improved.

The certification of the airplane was finished in June 1994. But because of the problems with thrust reverse airplane was introduced into operation only in December 1994. Airplane with turbofan engines Rolls-Royce “Trent” 700 began flight tests at the end of January 1994.

Airplane A330-300 is the first airplane of Airbus Industry with the engines of English Company. At the end of December 1994 certification was finish but in February 1995 deliveries started.

During 1990’s consortium has studied new modifications of A330 airplane. Initially was worked out variant A330-300X with take-off weight 223 tones. In 1992 was offered variant A330-300HGW with take-off weight 230 tones and flying range 9900 kilometers. In 1995 elaboration of the variant A330-200 with shortened body and increased flying range has started.

At the beginning Airbus Industries has worked over airplane in variant A330-200 that in body dimensions has taken place between airplanes A340-200 and -300. To the middle of 1988 was taken decision to elongate body by 0,94 meters. As result of this elongation the length of the airplane has equaled to the length of the airplane A340-300. After this the airplane got designation A330-300.

According to the development schedule the first was airplane A340 after which with one year interval – airplane A330. Experimental airplane Airbus A330-300 (with engine CF6-80E1) has made first flight on November 2nd 1992. At the end of October 1993 it was certified according to European (JAR) and American (FAR) airworthiness standards. First airplane at the end of December 1993 was delivered to french airline company “Air Inter”.

First version of Airbus A330-300 is the most common in Air Transat fleet.

This airplane offers 375 seats of two classes: 12 of the club type and 363 seats of the economy class.

Club type seats are located in the first two rows per 6 seats in each. The tray tables are built-in the armrests of the seats of the 1st row making them immovable and thus reducing the width of these seats. Also, these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

The main disadvantage of the seats of the 2nd row is noise from more crowded economy class located behind.

363 seats of the economy class are located in three sections. First section offers 58 seats. Passengers of the seats 4ABC, 4HJK and 5DFG will take advantage of extra legroom. These seats are considered the best seats. However, these seats are a little narrower than standard and have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

Limited recline and location of the lavatories behind are the main disadvantages of the seats 10AB and 10JK.

Second section of economy class seats is located behind the exit door. Passengers of the seats 14AB, 14JK, 15C, 15DFG and 15H will feel comfortable thanks to extra legroom. Other passengers tend to congregate in the area of these seats while waiting to use lavatories thus causing discomfort to passengers of these seats. Also the tray tables are in the armrests reducing the width. Lack of floor storage is one more disadvantage of these seats.

Close location of the lavatories and limited recline will cause discomfort to passengers of the seats of the 33rd row.

Behind another exit row the last 18 rows of economy class seats are located. The seats 36DFG, 37ABC and 37HJK offer extra space for passengers’ legs. But proximity of the lavatories, reduced width and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing may represent problem.

The noise from the lavatories is the disadvantage of the seats of the rows 51-53.

Economy class offers 334 seats. These seats are divided into three sections. First section has 7 rows of seats. Extra legroom of the seats 4AC, 4HK and 5DEFG makes these seats good seats. To book these seats an extra fee must be paid. However, these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing and are a little narrower than standard because the tray tables and video monitors are built-in the armrests making them immovable.

The only disadvantage of the seats of the 10th row is location of the galley and lavatories behind.

Second section of economy class has 20 rows: 19 rows have 2-4-2 configuration and one row contains 4 seats. For choosing the seats 14AC, 14HK and 15DEFG that offer extra legroom an additional fee must be paid. Reduced width and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing are the main disadvantages of these seats. One more disadvantage of the seats 15DEFG is noise from the galley located in front.

Limited recline and lavatories located behind are the main disadvantages of the seats of the 33rd row.

The third section of economy class seats is located behind the exit row. Paying extra fee allows passengers to take advantage of extra space for their legs on the seats 36DEFG, 37AC and 37HK. Among disadvantages: lack of floor storage during take-off and landing and reduced width because the tray tables and video monitors are in the armrests. Congregation of passengers near the seats 36DEFG who are waiting to use lavatories is another disadvantage of these seats.

As the seats 47D and 47G jut out into the aisle they are often bumped by other passengers and crew members passing by.

Lavatories located in the tail of the airplane may cause discomfort to passengers of the seats of the rows 52-53. Limited recline makes the seats 51AC, 51HK and 53DEG bad seats.

World Business class consists of 5 rows of angle-flat seats that have 2-2-2 configuration. The main disadvantages of the seats of the 1st row is close location of the galley and lavatory in front and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing. The noise from the galleys located behind will also cause disadvantage to passengers of the seats of the 5th row.

This airplane offers 40 seats of economy comfort class. These seats are located in 5 rows and have 2-4-2 configuration. Thanks to position of the bulkhead the seats of the 10th row offer extra legroom. However, location of the galleys in front may represent a problem to passengers of these seats.

Economy class seats are divided into 2 sections. There are totally 222 seats here. Most of the seats have 2-4-2 configuration.

Also it should be mentioned that the tail fin of A330-300 is almost 50 centimeters shorter that the tail fin of A330-200.
