Seat map of the Boeing 787-8 (788)

First three rows of seats offer 18 flat bed business class seats with 180 degrees recline, 74 inches pitch and 22 inches width.

The only disadvantage of the seats of the 1st row is close location of the lavatories to the seats 1AB and of the galleys to the seats 1DF and 1HJ.

Noise from the galleys may also be bothersome for passengers of the seats 3DF.

Behind the exit roe 238 economy class seats are located. These seats have 33 inches pitch and 17 inches width.

The seats of the economy class are divided into two sections. First section consists of 17 rows. 16 rows have 3-3-3 configuration and 1 row offers 6 seats.

Thanks to the exit row located in front of the seats of the 11th row these seats offer additional space for passengers’ legs. Among disadvantages of these seats: noise from the galley located nearby, reduced width because the tray tables are built-in the armrests making them immovable and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing.

Proximity of the galley is the only disadvantage of the seats 12DEF</striong>.

The seats of the 28th row have the following disadvantages: location of the lavatories behind and limited recline because these are the seats of the last row in the section.

Second section of economy class seats is located behind another exit row. There are 11 rows of seats here.

Passengers of the seats of the 30th row will feel comfortable thanks to extra legroom. However, these seats have the following disadvantages: location of the lavatories in front, no floor storage during take-off and landing and reduced width.

Missing windows make the seats 37A and 37J bad seats.

For passengers travelling with a companion will be ideal the seats 39AB and 39HJ. However, noise from the lavatories and galleys located behind make these seats bad seats as well as the seats 40DEF that may also have limited recline.

Boeing 787-8 consumes by 20 % less fuel than commercial airplanes of similar dimensions to replace which this Boeing airplane was constructed. The main construction of this airplane, including body and wing by 50 % consists of composite materials.

Windows of Boeing 787-7 are by 30% bigger than the majority of aircrafts of such dimensions have and their brightness is regulated with the buttons. Ragged edges of engine nacelles reduce noise level by 60 % both inside and outside the cabin. This airplane is also equipped with clipped wing tips that further to even higher fuel efficiency.

This version of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner offers 298 seats of two classes: business and economy.

Seat map of the of the Boeing 787-8 (788)

Business class may accommodate 20 passengers on comfortable flat bed seats. There are 4 rows of seats in the business class: 3 of them have 3-3-3 configuration and one row has 2-2 configuration.

The noise from the lavatories and galleys located in front and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing are the main disadvantages of the seats of the 1st row.

The galleys are also the disadvantage of the seats 3DG and 4C, 4H.

Economy class is divided from the seats of business class with an exit row. Economy class may accommodate 276 passengers. These seats are divided into two sections.

First section of economy class seats contains 20 rows that have 3-3-3 configuration.

The seats of the 15th row are considered good seats because they offer extra legroom to passengers. As the tray tables are in the armrests the width of these seats is reduced a little. Also these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing. Another disadvantage of the seats 15C, 15DFG and 15H is proximity of the lavatory. Air Europa designates the seats 15DFG as XL Economy class seats to book which extra fee must be paid.

Second section of economy class seats is located behind another exit row. Thanks to this exit row passengers of the seats of the 40th row will feel comfortable because these seats provide additional space for their legs. However, reduced width, no floor storage during take-off and landing and location of the lavatories in front may be bothersome. An extra fee must be paid to book the seats 40DFG because these seats are designated as XL seats.

The main disadvantage of the seats 47A and 47K are missing windows.

As there are no seats behind the seats 49C and 49H are often bumped by other passengers and crew members passing by.

Lavatories located behind are the only disadvantage of the seats 50D and 50G.

Limited recline and noise from the galleys and lavatories located behind make the seats 50AC, 50HK and 51DFG bad seats.

This airplane may accommodate 20 passengers in the first class (clase premier) and 211 passengers in the economy class.

20 seats of the first class are divided into two sections. These seats have 180 degrees recline. These seats are transformed into fully-fledged beds.

First section of the first class contains 4 rows of seats that have 2-2-2 configuration. As the seat 1G faces out into the aisle the noise from the galley located nearby may be bothersome.

The seats 4A and 4J have no windows, these seats are considered bad seats.

Second section of the first class is located behind the exit row. It contains 2 rows of seats. One row has just 2 seats and the second row has 2-2-2 configuration. The only disadvantage of the seats 5DF, 6C and 6G is close location of the galleys and lavatory in front.

Economy class seats are also located in two sections.

First section has 13 rows of seats that have 3-3-3 configuration. Aeromexico designates the seats of the 8th row as AM Plus seats because they offer 4 extra inches of legroom. An extra fee must be paid to reserve these seats. Location of the tables in the armrests makes these seats a little narrower than standard. Lack of floor storage is one more disadvantage of these seats. Passengers traveling with babies are often seated in this row because these seats have bassinets.

The main disadvantages of the seats of the 21st row are: limited recline and location of the lavatories behind.

Second section of the economy class contains 12 rows of seats. There are totally 94 seats here. Aeromexico designates the seats 22DEF, 23ABC and 23GHJ as preferred seats to choose which an extra fee must be paid. Passengers of these seats will feel comfortable thanks to extra space for their legs. However, other passengers tend to gather in the area of these seats while waiting to use lavatories causing discomfort. As the tray tables are built-in the armrests these seats are a little narrower than standard. Also, these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing. For passengers traveling with infants the seats 22DEF offer bassinets. Missing windows is one more disadvantage of the seats 23A and 23J.

The only disadvantage of the seats 30A and 30J is missing windows.

Due to missing seats behind the seats 31C and 31G are often bumped by other passengers passing by and service carts.

The seats 32AC and 32GJ have some extra space toward the windows. But proximity of the galley and lavatories will cause discomfort.

Limited recline and noise from the galleys and lavatories located near the seats 33DEF make these seats bad seats.

For today only one modification is in service – Boeing 787-6. First flight the airplane has made in December 2009 but commercial use began in October 2011.

Boeing 787-8 is the base modification of the airplane. Initially this model was marketed as replacement of outdated Boeing 767 and also as more fuel-efficient competitor of the airplanes of Airbus Company. Boeing 787-8 is able to accommodate from 210 (in two-class version) to 250 passengers (in one-class version of passenger cabin).

Jetstar uses this airplane during the flights to Phuket, Hawaii, Singapore, Bali and Japan.
This airplane may accommodate 335 passengers in two classes: business and economy.

First 3 rows represent seats of business class. These seats have 2-3-2 configuration. So, there are totally 21 seats here.

The only disadvantage of the seats of the 1st row is lack of floor storage during take-off and landing.

The seats 3AC are less reclining than standard.

The best seats of the business class are considered the seats 3G and 3J because these seats have extra recline and are often left for crew rest during long-haul flights.

Economy class may transport 314 passengers. These sections are located in three sections.

First section offers 27 seats. As the tray tables of the seats of the 10th row are located in the armrests, these seats are a little narrower than standard. Also these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

Limited recline and close location of the lavatory and galley are the disadvantages of the seats 11GHJ, 12DEF and 13ABC. Missing window make the seats 13ABC bad seats.

Behind the exit row the second section of economy class seats is located. There are 20 rows of seats them. 19 of them have 3-3-3 configuration and 1 row has 3-3 configuration.

Passengers of the seats of the 23rd row will feel comfortable thanks to extra legroom. However, these seats are a little narrower than standard, have no floor storage during take-off and landing and are located close to the lavatory and galley the noise from which may cause discomfort. For passengers travelling with infants the seats 23DEF offer bassinet locations.

The main disadvantages of the seats 41DEF, 42ABC and 42GHJ are: limited recline and location of the lavatories behind.

The third section of economy class seats consists of 14 rows. Passengers of the seats of the 44th row will take advantage of extra legroom. However, congregation of passengers in front of these seats while waiting to use lavatories will cause discomfort to passengers of these seats. Among other disadvantages: lack of floor storage during take-off and landing and reduced width of the seats.

Missing windows make the seats 51A and 51J bad seats.

The windows of the seats 52A and 52J are misaligned.

For passengers travelling with a partner are ideal the seats 54AC, 54GH and 55AC, 55GH.

Due to curvature of the airplane the seats 54AC and 54GH may feel cramped.

Limited recline makes the seats 55AC and 55GH bad seats.

The seats of the last 57th row are considered bad seats due to location of the lavatories behind and limited recline.

After finishing construction of the first test airplane in December 2009 Boeing 787 has made the first flight. The airplane tests were successful and already on the summer 2011 Boeing 787-8 (the base model) went to the first test flight through Pacific Ocean: from Seattle to Tokyo that, by the way, has ended successfully as well.

Airplane tests in Japan took place in terms of strong partnership with Japan airline company All Nippon Airways.

In the end of August 2011 Boeing 787 was certified and in two months commercial use began.

This airplane may accommodate 302 passengers in three classes: 18 in the business class, 21 in premium economy and 263 in the economy class.

Business class seats are located in the first 6 rows per 3 in each of seats and have 180 degrees recline. All these seats are standard. Only the seats of the 1st row have such a disadvantage as proximity of the galley and lavatory. Also these seats offer bassinet locations for passengers with babies.

Premium economy class consists of 3 rows of seats that have 2-3-2 configuration. For passengers travelling with babies the seats of the 23rd row have bassinet locations.

263 seats of the economy class are divided into two sections. First section consists of 16 rows of seats: 15 of them have 3-3-3 configuration and 1 row with 2 seats.

The main disadvantages of the seats 34JK and 35DEF are: location of the galleys and lavatory in front, reduced width of the seats and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing. Passengers travelling with infants are often seated here.

Passengers of the seats 35ABC will take advantage of extra legroom. However, proximity of the lavatory and galleys, reduced width and lack of floor storage will cause discomfort to passengers of these seats. Also these seats offer bassinets.

As there is no seat in front the seat 35H gas extra space for passengers’ legs but at the same time this seat is often bumped by other passengers and crew members passing by.

ABC seats of the rows 36-43 as well as the seats HJK of the rows 36-41 when purchased together may be converted into Economy Skycouch by raising extendable foot rest and creating couch-like seat that gives additional personal room and comfort during long-haul flights.

Location of the lavatories behind and limited recline make the seats of the 49th row bad seats.

The second section of economy class seats has 16 rows.

Thanks to the exit row located in front the sears 50ABC and 50HJK provide passengers with extra legroom. Among disadvantages: the noise from the galley and lavatories located in front, reduced width because the tray tables and TV are built-in the armrests making them immovable and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing.

Close location of the galley, reduced width of the seats and no floor storage during take-off and landing are the main disadvantages of the seats 52DEF.

Passengers tend to congregate in the area of the seats 63ABC, 63HJK, 64DEF and 65DEF while waiting to use lavatories and thus causing discomfort to passengers of these seats.

This airplane may accommodate 254 passengers: 22 in business class and 232 in economy class.

Business class offers 22 flat bed seats with 180 degree recline. 20 seats are located in the first section. There are 5 rows of seats here per 4 in each. Location of the galleys in front may cause some discomfort to passengers of the seats of the 1st row. Passengers of the seats 1A and 1K will feel more privacy.

Misaligned windows are the main disadvantage of the seats 5A and 5K.

Behind the exit row 2 more seats of business class are located. The main disadvantage of these seats, the seats 6EF is close location of the lavatories.

Economy class consists of 232 seats divided into 2 classes. Most of the seats have 3-3-3 configuration. All A,C,D,F,H and K seats may have less legroom and under seat storage space because of entertainment equipment stored here.

First section of economy class seats contains 15 rows of seats. There are totally 135 seats here. Passengers of the seats of the 10th row will take advantage of extra space for their legs. Also these seats offer bassinet locations if passenger is travelling with baby. However, these seats are narrower than standard and have no floor storage during take-off and landing. Also other passengers tend to gather in the area of these seats in order to visit lavatories and causing discomfort to passengers of these seats. Proximity of the lavatories is also disadvantage of the seats 24C, 24D, 24F, 24H and for passengers of the seats of the 25th row.

The second section of economy class seats is located behind exit row. There are 11 rows of seats here: 10 of them have 3-3-3 configuration and the last row contains 7 seats.

Passengers of the seats 26ABC and 26HJK will feel comfortable thanks to extra legroom. But this additional space in case of the seats 26A and 26K is limited because of the protrusion of the exit doors inside. The seats 26DEF on the contrary may have restricted legroom. Missing windows is another disadvantage of the seats 26a and 26K.

Among disadvantages of the seats of the 26th row: proximity of the lavatories, reduced width as the tray tables are in the armrests making them immovable and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing.

Passengers with infants are often seated on the seats 26DEF as they have bassinet locations.

The seats 34a and 34K are considered bad seats as they have no windows.

Location of the galleys and lavatories behind may represent problem for passengers of the seats 35CD, 35 FH and of the seats of the 36th row. Limited recline of the seats of the last 36th row makes these seats bad seats.

Boeing 787 DreamLiner is wide-bodied jetliner . Aerodynamically the airplane represents long-winged aircraft with normal scheme of single-fin empennage. Peculiarity of this airplane is use of composite materials during construction process. In such a way the airplane’s body, wing and single-fin empennage consist of composite based on carbon by 50% that provides more durability of the body and its’ lightness.

Passenger cabin of Boeing 787 is able to accommodate from 210 to 330 passengers (in two-class version depending on the modification).
