Norwegian Air Shuttle operates Boeing 787-9 on medium and long-haul routes. Boeing 787-9 operated by Norwegian Air Shuttle may accommodate 344 passengers.

This airplane offers seats of 2 classes: premium and economy.

Seat map of the of the Boeing 787-9 (789)

Premium class located in the first 5 rows offers 35 seats. The noise from lavatories and galleys located in front of the seats of the 1st row will cause discomfort to passengers of these seats. Also, these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing. For passengers that travel with infants the seat 1G offers bassinet.

Because of missing windows the seat 5A and 5J are considered bad seats.

309 seats of economy class are located in three sections.

First section is the smallest one. It consists of 3 rows of seats that have 3-3-3 configuration. Extra legroom of the seats 6ABC and 6DEF makes these seats the best seats. However, as the tray tables are built-in the armrests the width of these seats is reduced a little. Lack of floor storage during take-off and landing is another disadvantage of these seats.

Passengers of the seats 6GHJ will also take advantage of extra legroom. At the same time passengers who need basinets are often seated here, the armrests of these seats are immovable reducing the width of the seats and there is no floor storage during take-off and landing.

Limited recline and location of the galleys behind are the disadvantages of the seats of the 8th row.

Behind the exit row the second section of economy class seats is located. There are 18 rows of seats here: 2 of them contain 3 seats each and 16 rows have 3-3-3 configuration.

Thanks to the exit row located in front the seats 9ABC have additional space for passengers’ legs. Among disadvantages of these seats: close location of the galleys, lack of floor storage during take-off and landing and reduced width.

The only disadvantage of the seats 10C, 11DEF and 11GHJ is proximity of the galleys. Passengers traveling with babies are often seated on the seat 11G because this seat offers bassinet.

The seats of the 26th row are less reclining than standard. Location of the lavatories behind may also cause discomfort to passengers of these seats.

The third section of economy class seats contains 16 rows of seats.

Passengers of the seats of the 27th row will feel comfortable thanks to extra legroom. At the same time, congregation of passengers near lavatories will cause discomfort to passengers of these seats. Also, these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing and have reduced width because the tray tables are located in the armrests making them immovable.

The seats 38A and 38J have no windows.

Because of the bulkhead located behind the seats 40ABC and 40GHJ have limited recline. Proximity of the lavatories is another disadvantage of these seats. Both these disadvantages make these seats bad seats.

The noise from the lavatories will also cause discomfort to passengers of the seats 40D, 40F and 41D, 41F.

Galley and lavatory located behind and limited recline because of the bulkhead located behind make the seats 42DEF bad seats.

The main peculiarity of passenger airplane Boeing 787-9 is that in comparison with other models of this family it consumes by 20 % less fuel and at the same time remains more ecologically friendly mode of transport thanks to reduced emissions hazardous substances.

Also the cabin of the aircraft is by 40 centimeters wider than the cabin of Boeing 767 what allowed to make seats more comfortable but aisles with more free space. The size of the lavatories and overhead storage bins has also increased.

First 5 rows of seats represent seats of business class designated by Scoot Airlines as ScootBiz seats. These seats have 2-3-2 configuration and have 22 inches width. All these seats are standard, only the seats of the 1st row have such disadvantage as lack of floor storage during take-off and landing.

Behind the seats of business class 5 rows of Scootin Silence type seats are located. These seats are located in a quiet zone. An extra fee must be paid to book these seats. Passengers under 12 years old cannot choose these seats. Passengers of the seats of the 6th row will take advantage of extra space for their legs. However, as the tray tables are built-in the armrests the width of these seats is reduced a little and these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

Economy class may accommodate 295 seats. Most of these seats have 3-3-3 configuration. Scoot Airlines designates the seats of the 11th row as S-t-r-e-t-c-h Seat. An extra fee must be paid to reserve these seats. These seats offer extra legroom. Among disadvantages: galley located in front, slightly reduced width and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing.

DEF seats of the rows 11-14 are designated as SuperSeat to book which extra charge should be paid.

Close location of the lavatories will cause discomfort to passengers of the seats 28C, 28DEF, 28HJK and 29 ABC. Missing window makes the seat 29A bad seat.

Behind the exit row second section of economy class seats is located.

Thanks to exit row located in front the seats 30DEF, 31ABC and 31HJK have extra legroom. These seats are designated as S-t-r-e-t-c-h Seats to choose which extra fee must be paid. But noise from the lavatories located in front, reduced width and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing may cause discomfort to passengers of these seats. Extra fee must be also paid to reserve ABC and HJK seats of the rows 32-33 because these seats are designated by Scoot Airlines as SuperSeats.

Because of missing windows the seats 42A and 42K are considered bad seats.

The seats 44AC and 44HK are designated as SuperSeats that may be reserved for additional charge. These seats are ideal for passengers travelling with a partner. Thanks to missing middle seats passengers will be able to take advantage of more space. However, these seats may not recline and are located close to lavatories.

Proximity of lavatories is the only disadvantage of the seats 44D and 44F.

The seats 45DEF are less reclining than standard and are located close to the galley and lavatories what makes these seats bad seats.

First 8 rows on this airplane offer 30 open suites of business class. All these seats are transformed into a fully bed.

Close location to the galleys and lavatory will cause discomfort to passengers of the seats 1A and 1K.

Proximity of the galleys may also represent a problem to passengers of the seats of the 8th row.

Behind the exit row 21 seats of premium economy class are located. These seats have 130 degrees recline. Passengers of the seats of the 10th row will take advantage of extra space for their legs. For passengers travelling with babies these seats offer bassinets. These seats have some disadvantages: proximity of the lavatories, reduced width and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing.

Economy class offers 225 standard seats that are located in two sections.

First section contains 11 rows of seats: 10 of them have 3-3-3 configuration and the last row of the section contains just 6 seats. Extra legroom provided by the seats of the 15th row makes these seats good seats. Passengers travelling with infants are often seated in this row. However, these seats are a little narrower than standard and have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

Limited recline and location of the lavatories behind are the main disadvantages of the seats 24DEG, 25BC and 25HJK.

Behind the exit row second section of economy class seats is located. There are 15 rows o seats here.

Passengers of the seats of the 30th row will feel comfortable thanks to extra legroom. As the tray tables are in the armrests the width of these seats is reduced a little. Lack of floor storage during take-off and landing is another disadvantage of these seats. The seats 30BC and 30HJ are considered the best seats. Protrusion of the exit doors restricts extra legroom of the seats 30A and 30K a little. Location of the lavatory in front will cause inconvenience to passengers of the seats 30DEG. For passengers with babies these seats offer bassinets.

The noise from the lavatory and galley located behind the seats of the 43rd row (except the seat 43E) and the seats of the 44th row may be bothersome. Limited recline makes the seats 43ABC, 43HJK and 44DEG bad seats.

These characteristics have been reached by means of elongated by 6.5 meters body. Flying range has been also increased (by 500 kilometers). Commercial use of Boeing 787-9 began in 2014.

The cabin width is 5.5 meters that is bigger than in Airbus A330 and A340. The lightning is made on the base of light-emitting diodes that change color depending on the flight stage.

The windows size is 65% bigger than in other airplanes. Instead of common window blind they are equipped with electro chromic dimming system. Luggage bins are by 30% bigger.

First sample was shown during presentation on the plant located in Everett, Washington state on July 8th 2007.

First the airplane’s flight was planned on September 2007 but for various reasons first flight was permanently postponed and was made on December 15th 2009. All tests have been finished in the middle of 2011. The same year, in the middle of August have been got American and European verification certificates of readiness. Commercial use of Dreamliner began on October 26th 2011.

The cabin of Boeing 787 is 40 centimeters wider than of Boeing 767 that allowed to make the seats more comfortable and the aisles with easier access. The lavatories’ size has increased as well. The overhead bins became significantly roomy, on each of them may be placed up to four rolling bags.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner is the family of principally new, super economy passenger aircrafts that provide range and speed of big airlines in middle segment.

As answer on the great popularity among airline companies Boeing has developed 787 family with great efficiency that allows airline companies to open new cost-efficient routes for transporting passengers with exceptional comfort directly to their destination. From the moment of introduction into service in 2011 aircrafts of 787 family allowed to open more than 50 new routes all over the world.

In construction of the airplane participate group of the biggest world space operations company under the direction of specialists from Boeing Company. Final assembly work is made on the plant in Everett city, Washington, USA and also on assembly line in Charleston city, South Carolina, USA.

Boeing 787-9 has made its first flight on September 17th, 2013 – it was the beginning of the integral program of flight tests after which certification and delivery to the first client Air New Zealand Company in June 2014 took place.

Club World class includes 42 flat bed seats located in 6 rows per 7 seats in each. These seats are divided into 2 sections. The first section has two rows of seats. The only disadvantage of the seats 7BDFJ is close location of the lavatory and galleys.

The second section has 4 rows of seats. All of them are standard. Only proximity of the lavatories and galleys may represent a problem for passengers of the seats 10 BDFJ.

The seats in the last rows, i.e. 43AB, 43HJ and 44DEF are considered bad seats as they may have limited recline are located close to the lavatories and galleys.

Boeing 787-9 is the latest airplane that has supplemented the fleet of American Airlines.

This airplane may transport 285 passengers in three classes: business, premium economy and economy. American Airlines also separates main cabin extra type of seats.

First 8 rows are the seats of business class. There are totally 21 seats here. Close location of the galleys will cause discomfort to passengers of the seats of the 1st row, 7DH, 8A and 8L. Lack of floor storage during take-off and landing is another disadvantage of the seats of the 1st row.

Behind the exit row 21 seats of premium economy class are located. There are 3 rows of seats here that have 2-3-2 configuration. The noise from the galley and lavatory located in front may represent a problem for passengers of the seats of the 9th row. Also these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing.

Next 3 rows contain seats of main cabin extra type. There are totally 27 seats here. The only disadvantage of the seats of the 12th row is lack of floor storage during take-off and landing.

Behind the seats of the main cabin extra type 75 economy class seats are located. Passengers tend to gather in the area of the seats 22ABC, 22D, 22H, 22JKL and 23DEH in order to visit lavatories causing discomfort to passengers of these seats. Also the seats 23DEH are less reclining than standard.

Behind the lavatories, galley and exit row one row of main cabin extra type is located. These seats have 3-3-3 configuration. Location of the galley and lavatories in front of the seats of the 24th row and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing are the disadvantages of these seats.

The last 15 rows of the airplane contain the seats of economy class. Most of these seats are standard. Lavatory and galleys located nearby are the main disadvantage of the seats 37D, 37H, 38D and 38H. This disadvantage in addition to limited recline makes the seats 37ABC, 37JKL and 39DEH bad seats.
