<p>Jacdec deals with compilation of the list of the safest airlines for 13 years now. During the previous 11 years auditor used simplified Safety Index, however since 2018 this index was improved, complicated and replaced with “Safety Risk Index”.</p>
<div class="sub-content"><h6 class="h-sub-content">How is this index formed?</h6></div>
<p>To calculate indications of each airline carrier are taken data of three main criteria and several tens of secondary:</p>
<p>Total number of accidents and various aviation incidents</p>
<p>Contributing surrounding factors: airports’ landscapes and their infrastructural features, weather conditions of the location of the main company’s directions and other.</p>
<p>Various performance indexes of Airline Company such as: age of the airplane, route network, safety audit of International organizations IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization)).</p>
<p>In total calculation formula contains 33 clauses, thus their number increased by 336 % as compared to old Safety Index. Of course, JACDEC Safety Index is not ideal and all data are based exceptionally on information about events that already took place and on actual operating data.</p>
<p>Affirmation about future risks and safety of one Airline Company or another may be just indirect hypothesis but at present moment Index Risk is the best answer to this difficult question of civil aviation as Aviation Safety.</p>

<p>As compared to previous year top 10 of the safest airline companies has changed, except the leader Cathay Pacific Airways that takes first place of honor for the third time in row and also the fourth and the eighth places that take Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways. In the new year the rating have entered four new airline companies but the only representative of Russia &#8211; &#8220;Aeroflot&#8221; that has lost first place takes 37th place.</p>

<p>Jacdec is creating the list of the safest airline companies during 15 years already. Safety Index is not perfect but for today it is one of the best instruments for comparing airline companies in flight safety.<br />
What this index is based on?<br />
To calculate the index for each carrier are taken data about all aviation accidents and incidents for the last 30 years in relation to the total number of transported passengers and distance covered for the same period (passenger turnover). Also, significant role play audit rates of safety of International organizations IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).<br />
Besides, in the formula an important measurement is the time of aviation accident, most recent accidents have bigger weight and vice versa. Totally are used 8 parameters for calculation:<br />
1. Passenger turnover for 30 years<br />
2. Number of victims for 30 years<br />
3. Number of fully lost or destroyed aircrafts that are beyond repair for 30 years<br />
4. Number of &#8220;serious incidents&#8221; for the same time. Under &#8220;serious incident&#8221; is meant case when the accident had a narrow escape.<br />
5. The number of full years with no accident. The more years are, the better index is.<br />
6. Membership in International organizations IOSA and ICAO.<br />
7. Factor of time. Accidents from the past are less important than earlier accidents.<br />
8. Rating of the country to which the airline company belongs to. The countries are divided for several  groups according to transparence of the actions of controlling authority of flight accidents investigation.</p>
