British Aerospace Avro RJ100 Brussels Airlines. Photos and description of the plane

“Brussels Airlines” operates British Aerospace Avro RJ100. Passenger airplanes Avro RJ represent modernized versions of three models of airplane BAE146.

Upgrade that took place in 1992 consisted in installation of new fuel efficient engines and up-to-date digital avionics that have improved economic characteristics and increased flying range.

As well as its predecessor airplanes Avro RJ have been constructed in three modifications that differed in body length and passenger capacity. For all modifications have been also engineered 2 versions of the passenger cabin configuration that differed in number of seats in the row (5 in row or 6 in row).


Modifications of Avro RJ airplane:

Avro RJ70 – upgraded BAe 146-100 may accommodate 70 passengers (in configuration with 5 seats in the row) and 80 passengers (6 seats in row).
Avro RJ85 – upgraded BAe 146-200 may accommodate 85 passengers (5 seats in the row) or 100 passengers (6 seats in the row).
Avro RJ100 – upgraded BAe 146-300 may accommodate 100 passengers (5 seats in the row) or 112 passengers (6 seats in the row).

Airplanes Avro RJ have been constructed from 1993 to 2003. 166 airplanes have been totally constructed.
