Legendary passenger airplane Boeing will be withdrawn from production
Legendary passenger airplane Boeing 747 that was in operation for more than 50 years will be withdrawn from production – Bloomberg informs.
So, it got about that American company will withdraw from production two-decked four-engine wide-body airplane due to crises against coronavirus pandemic. It is also marked that despite popularity among passengers Jumbo Jet was not quite popular on majority of the routes because air carriers gave priority to the airplanes with two engines.
Besides, according to calculations of the Jeffries Company’s analyst Sheila Kahyaoglu Boeing 747 has almost devastated Boeing corporation because starting from 2016 it lost 40 million dollars on each Jumbo Jet. As result company produced only six Boeing 747 per year but the last order for production of the famous passenger airplanes was placed in 2017.
As expert of consulting company Teal Group Richard Aboulafia considers success of Boeing 747 on the market has dented because of bad management on the early production stages that caused disrupted deadlines and loss of funds.
In June Norwegian airline company Norwegian Air announced that they refuse order for 97 Boeing airplanes of the biggest American manufacturer of airplanes. Also air carrier is going to claim compensation for suspension of Boeing 737 MAX operation and failures in the engine of Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
