airBaltic company received new airplane Airbus A220-300
Airline company airBaltic on December 31st 2022 received new airplane Airbus A220-300 with registration number YL-ABM. This this seventh airplane that was delivered to air carrier in 2021.
Totally airBaltic placed order for 50 airplanes Airbus A220-300 and keeps opportunity to place order for 30 more.
Till today airBaltic has carried on these airplanes almost 10 500 00 passengers and made more than 120 000 flights, spent in the sky 263000 hours.
Since May 2020 airline company makes all flights only on the airplanes Airbus A220-300. This decision allows to ease the process of fleet maintenance and also provides additional advantages thanks to efficiency of the airplanes, in particular this has to do with fuel efficiency and accommodations both for the passengers and employees.
Airbus A220 earlier known as Bombardier CSeries is the family of narrow-body two-engine jet airplanes of medium range engineered by Canadian company Bombardier Aerospace. Airbus received controlling block of shares (50,01%) in CSeries program in October 2017, transaction was completed in July 2018. Bombardier remained with 31% of the shares but 19% owned Investissement Quebec.
First flight Airbus A220-300 (Bombardier CSeries 300) took place on February 27th 2015.
