“Etihad Airways” operates Airbus A319-100. After success of A300 Airbus company began construction of new airplane that was meant to replace the most popular at that moment airplane Boeing 727 and earlier Boeing variants Boeing 737.

It was intended to create airplane of the same dimensions but more perfect from the point of view of economy and different variants of passenger capacity.

Airbus A319 is the widest (3.95 meters) airplane among narrow-bodied airplanes in the segment.

The main competitor of the airplane is Boeing 737-700.

A319 has the following modifications:

A319LR – modification with additional fuel tanks that increase flying range by 8300 kilometers.

A319ACJ (Airbus Corporate Jet) – business-aircraft that transports 39 passengers on distance up to 12000 kilometers.
