Airline company Air Serbia began to test digital COVID-passport

Serbian national airline company Air Serbia in cooperation with International Air Transport Association (IATA) will start testing IATA Travel Pass – new mobile application for travels in terms of pandemic.

Serbia informed that it will become one of the first European governments that will join global initiative directed to opening borders free of quarantine, insurance of safe travels and restoring tourism industry and air transport.

First stage of testing the program will include Air Serbia flights Belgrade-Zurich and its implementation will take several weeks.


IATA Travel Pass application will allow travelers to store and control data related to test results for COVID-19 in their mobile phones and also share confirmed status with airline company before coming to airport.

Application will also offer updated info about COVID-19 sanitary rules and travelers will be able to check if they correspond to the latest requirements of entrance established by destination country.

European Commission declared last week that the governments of member- countries should urgently start technical work to provide introduction of the system of COVID-19 vaccine certificates till summer.

As it was earlier informed World Health Organization (WHO) has significant objections on the plan of European Commission to introduce “digital green vaccine passports”.
