Korean airline company received profit in the 2nd quarter

Airline company Korean Air surprisingly didn’t fit into general industry trend of quick growth of expenses: second quarter turned out to be profitable for South Korean carrier – namely thanks to activity of cargo department.

While almost all biggest airline companies of the world declared serious losses in the second quarter 2020 due to coronavirus crises, Korean Air reported net profit earning in amount of 162 billion KRW (137 million USD). Though profits from passenger transportation reduced, airline company managed to use its quite big fleet of cargo airplanes to serve increased demand on cargo transportation during crises.


South Korean company Korean Air resumed flights to Chinese Tianjin – informs KBS with the reference to company’s representatives.

According to their words in order to prevent spreading of coronavirus infection flight Icheon – Tianjin is made twice a week from July 28th.

It is known that at present moment South Korean airline company makes flights to Shenyang and Guangzhou.

From June 1st South Korean airline company resumed transportation on 19 international routes to Washington, Seattle, Toronto, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Vancouver, Pekin and other.
