Seat map Boeing 737-400 “Alaska Airlines”. Best seats in the plane
Alaska Airlines operates 2 versions of Boeing 737-400.
First cabin version of the Boeing 737-400 (734)
The first version of Boeing 737-400 operated by Alaska Airlines is the most common. This airplane has 144 passengers seats located in two classes: first and economy.
First class consists of 3 rows of seats that have 2-2 configuration. Due to the bulkhead position the seats of the 1st row have limited legroom. Also these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing. The noise that is coming from the galleys may cause discomfort to passengers of these seats.
132 seats of the economy class are located in 22 rows per 6 seats in each.
Because of the closet wall located in front the seats 6ABC have less legroom. As the tray tables are in the armrests the width of these seats is reduced as little. Also these seats have no floor storage during take-off and landing.
Passengers of the seats 6DEF will take advantage of extra legroom due to the bulkhead position. These seats have the same disadvantages as the other seats of the 6th row, i.e. reduced width and lack of floor storage during take-off and landing.
The seats 9A and 9F have misaligned windows and restricted space for passengers’ shoulders because of the protrusion from the wall.
Due to the exit row located behind the seats of the 15th row have restricted legroom.
As the seats of the 16th row are located between two exit rows these seats on the one hand offer extra legroom but on the other are less reclining.
The main advantage of the seats 17A and 17F is extra legroom. But the window-side armrests are attached to the exit doors.
The best seatsof the economy class are considered the seats 17BC and 17DE as these seats have extra space for passengers’ legs.
Proximity of the lavatories is the main disadvantage of the seats 29C and 29D.
Close location of the lavatories and limited recline make the seats of the 30th row bad seats.
Second cabin version of the Boeing 737-400 (734) Combi
Boeing 737-400 Combi operated by Alaska Airlines consists of 72 standard seats of the economy class.
All these seats are located in 12 rows and have 3-3 configuration.
The best seats on this airplane are the seats of the 17th row (first row). These seats have extra legroom thanks to the position of the bulkhead. These seats are first reserved for Alaska Airlines MVP and MVP Gold members.
Passengers of the seats of the 28th row will be first to exit after the flight. However, close location of the galley and lavatories will cause discomfort. Also the overhead bins of these seats are used for emergency equipment.
