United Airlines airline company calculated losses caused by COVID-19 pandemic

Airline company United Airlines that is one of the biggest in USA during 2020 born losses in amount of 7,1 billion USD in the context of restrictions due to coronavirus pandemic – about this point data of the carriers’ annual corporate report published on January 20th.

At the end of the 4th quarter 2020 net losses of United Airlines made 1,9 billion USD and the income – 3,4 billion USD.

Representatives of United Airlines consider that in the first quarter 2021 situation may improve thanks to vaccine spreading against new coronavirus in USA.

Passenger transport reduced significantly in USA due to pandemic. Leading American airline companies placed on leave without pay tens of thousands employees. And also reduced major part of regular flights. Some routes have been totally refused. Earlier was informed that six leading airline companies of USA will receive financial support of the government in amount of 25 billion USD.

According to the forecast of International Air Transport Association (IATA) losses of air carriers all over the world in 2020-2021 because of coronavirus pandemic may reach 157 billion USD. In particular deficit of the airline companies in 2021 may reach 38,7 billion USD.
