Lufthansa operates two cabin versions of Airbus A380-800.

First cabin version of the of the Airbus A380-800 (388) V1

The first cabin version is the most common in Lufthansa.

4 classes of seats are located in two decks of the airplane. In the lower deck are located seats of the Premium Economy and Economy class. In the upper deck – first class, business class and few seats of economy class.


LOWER DECK

The lower deck starts with the seats of the Premium Economy class that may accommodate 52 passengers. The seats of the 1st row of this class, i.e. the seats 50AC and 50Hk have some extra space for passengers’ legs but close location of the lavatory may cause discomfort.

Passengers of the seats 52DEFG may take advantage of extra legroom due to the bulkhead position. However, close location to the stairs that lead to upper deck may be bothersome.

Close location of the lavatories may represent a problem for passengers of the seats 56C, 56DEFG and of the seats 57AC and 57HK.

Economy class in the lower deck is divided into three sections. Most of the seats in the economy class have 3-3-3 configuration. The seats of the 60th row as well as the seats 61DEFG have no floor storage during take-off and landing. As the tray tables are in the armrests, the width of these seats is reduced a little. Also, proximity of the galleys may be a problem.

Proximity of the lavatories may be bothersome for passengers of the seats 73DEFG and of the 74th row.

The first section is divided from the second with emergency exit. That is why the seats if the 1st row in the 2nd section, i.e. the seats of the 75th row have extra space for passengers’ legs . Among disadvantages of these seats: lack of floor storage during take-off and landing, reduced width of these seats as the tray tables are in the armrests making them immovable. Other passengers tend to congregate in this area in order to visit lavatories located here.

The seats 76A and 76K are the best seats as they have extra legroom due to the missing seats in front.

The seats 76DEFG are narrower than standard, have no floor storage during take-off and landing and are located close to the lavatories.

The only disadvantage of the seats of 87th row is proximity of the galleys and lavatories.

The third section of the economy class in the economy class consists of 7 rows of seats that have 3-4-3 configuration. The seats of the 88th row are located close to the galleys, have no floor storage during take-off and landing and are slightly narrower than standard.

Close location to the lavatories may be bothersome for passengers of the seats 93C, 93D, 93G, 93H and of the seats of the last 94th row.

UPPER DECK

The upper deck has 8 open suites in the first class that have 180 degree recline.

Business class includes 78 flat bed seats that also have 180 degree recline. These seats are divided into 2 sections. First section consists of 9 rows of seats that have 2-2-2 configuration. All of these seats are standard. Only close location of the seats of the first and last row of the section, i.e. of the 10th and 20th row to the galleys and lavatories may be bothersome.

The second section of Business class has 4 rows of seats that have 2-2-2 configuration. The only disadvantage of the seats of 21st row is proximity of the galleys.

The last rows in the upper deck are the seats of the economy class. These seats are located behind the exit row that is why the seats of the 95th row have extra legroom and are considered good seats. As to the seats 95A and 95K, these seats have no windows.

The main disadvantage of the seats 98AC, 98GHK and the seats of the last 99th row is close location of the lavatory and galley.

The second version of Airbus A380-800 may transport 540 passengers in 4 classes.

LOWER DECK

Premium Economy class has 52 standard seats that are located in the fore-body of the lower deck.

The seats 52DEFG are located near the stairs that lead to the upper deck and passengers of that part of the airplane may cause discomfort to passengers if these seats when going up stairs.

Proximity of the galleys and lavatories may also represent problem for passengers of the seats 56DEFG and of the 57th row.

The remaining part of the lower deck take seats of the economy class that are divided into three sections. The seats of the first section are standard only close location to the galleys of the seats of 60th row (first row of the section) and to the lavatories of the seats 73DEFG and of the 74th row (the last rows of the section) may be bothersome.

The second section of the economy class is located behind exit row that is why the seats of the first row of this section. i.e. the seats 75BC and 75HJ have extra legroom. Among disadvantages of these seats: lack of floor storage during takeoff and landing, other passengers tend to congregate in this area in order to visit lavatories and as the tray tables are in the armrests, the width of these seats is reduced a little.

Passengers of the seats 76A and 76K will take advantage of extra space for their legs as there are no seats in front. That is why these seats are considered the best seats. The other seats of the 76th row and namely the seats 76DEFG also have extra legroom but close location of the lavatories may represent a problem.

The only disadvantage of the seats of the 87th row (the last row of 2nd section) is proximity of the galleys.

The third section of the economy class includes 7 rows of seats that have 3-4-3 configuration. Close location to the galleys is the main disadvantage of the seats of 88th row. Proximity of the lavatories will be a problem for passengers of the seats located in the last rows of the lower deck, i.e. of the seats 93C, 93D, 93G, 93H and the whole 94th row.

UPPER DECK

The upper deck may accommodate 100 passengers: 8 in the first class and 92 in business class.

First class has 8 open suites with 180 degree recline.

Business class has 92 flat bed seats with 180 degree decline as well. These seats are located into two section. First section consists of 9 rows per 6 seats in each that have 2-2-2 configuration. All these seats are standard only close location of the galleys and lavatories may cause discomfort to passengers of the seats of 10th row and 20th row.

In the second section only passengers of the seats 27HK may feel discomfort because of the lavatory located nearby.
